Audiologists Ms Rebecca Gay and Mr Grant Ewer will lead WS Audiology (WSA) in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) after the promotion of Mr James Benston to president of WSA Asia-Pacific (APAC).
WSA announced that Gay had been appointed to lead its wholesale business in ANZ, while Ewer would take on responsibility for the retail business.
The appointments take effect on 1 October 2025, the company announced in a media release on 3 September 2025.
WSA said Gay and Ewer were experienced leaders with long-standing ties to the hearing care industry and to WSA, and they would work closely together to drive growth, and to support partners across Australia and New Zealand.
Benston, the managing director of WSA wholesale and retail ANZ, began his career nearly three decades ago in Brisbane as a hearing aid technician.
WSA said he recently led the ANZ business to strong performance and would now also join the company’s executive committee.
Benston succeeds Mr Olivier Chupin, who WSA said had decided to leave the company after four successful years to pursue a career outside of WSA.

“I am honoured to take on this new role and excited about the opportunity to work more closely with our teams and partners across the Asia-Pacific region,” Benston said.
“Having led the ANZ business for many years, I know first-hand the dedication of our people here. I have every confidence that Rebecca and Grant will continue to build on our strong foundation in ANZ – their leadership, experience, and passion for hearing care will ensure we remain a trusted partner and drive future growth.”
WSA said it was a leading global pure-play hearing healthcare group, pioneering innovative technologies for more than 140 years, helping millions of people with hearing loss regain the joy of hearing, engage in meaningful conversations, and participate fully in society.
It operates in more than 130 markets and employs more than 12,500 people across its hearing aid portfolio, which includes Widex and Signia, and a global network of hearing care professionals and consumer-facing businesses.
WSA is privately owned by the Tøpholm and Westermann families, the Lundbeck Foundation, EQT and ATHOS KG.
