Specsavers has been ranked in the World’s Best Workplaces list for the second year in a row, placing 12th.

Moving up four places from last year, the optical and audiology business is the top retailer in the list.

Great Place to Work, a global authority on workplace culture, chose Specsavers from organisations that took part in Great Place to Work’s employee survey process. The survey represents 25 million employees worldwide and had more than nine million responses.

Mr John Perkins, Specsavers CEO, said: “This is such a special accomplishment for everyone who works so tirelessly to create Specsavers’ outstanding workplace culture. This is something everyone should be really proud of.

“Our ranking among some of the biggest and brightest businesses in the world will inspire us to continue making life at Specsavers truly special.”

To be considered for the list, companies must have 5,000 or more employees globally and be identified as outstanding global employers with recognition on at least five Best Workplaces lists from across the world during 2024 or early 2025.

Companies are ranked more highly based on their ability to outperform other companies in their national market and around the world.

This year Specsavers ranked eighth in the European list and 26th in the UK list. The business has been ranked as a Great Place to Work in every country where it operates, including Australia and New Zealand. It was ranked number one in Denmark.

Organisations are assessed on their efforts to create great workplaces and positively impact people and communities across multiple countries around the world. Companies must demonstrate how they support employees with personalised services and meet their needs.
