Specsavers has been ranked 16th in Fortune magazine’s World’s 25 Best Workplaces in 2024 list.

Fortune magazine and Great Place To Work selected the optical and audiology business from organisations that took part in the Great Place To Work’s employee survey process, with 7.4 million responses received, representing 20 million employees worldwide.

Specsavers CEO Mr John Perkins said: “This is an incredible achievement, and it is a credit to all our colleagues and partners who work hard to make Specsavers such a great place to work.

“I could not be prouder. Our ranking among so many other brilliant organisations on this list continues to drive our ambition in making life at Specsavers truly special.”

To be considered for the list, companies must be identified as outstanding global employers with recognition on at least five Best Workplaces lists from across the world during 2023 or early 2024.

Organisations are assessed on their efforts to create great workplaces and positively impact people and communities across multiple countries around the world.

Companies must demonstrate how they support employees with personalised services and meet their needs.

Specsavers said the prestigious recognition not only acknowledged its global commitment to delivering exceptional eye and hearing care, but also highlighted its ongoing dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive, and vibrant work environment where everyone can flourish and thrive.

Sixth best workplace in Australia

The news builds on the September 2024 announcement of Specsavers sixth place ranking in the 2024 Top 10 Best Workplaces in Australia list, and both Specsavers Australia and New Zealand being accredited as a great place to work this year.

Celebrating Specsavers being named as Australia’s sixth best workplace in September are (from left) Paul Bott, Managing Director ANZ, Joana Cruz, senior HR business partner, Jane Hoban, trading director ANZ, Karen Clancy, people director ANZ, Dominic Savill, retail director ANZ, Tom Craw, managing director audiology ANZ, Ben Ashby, clinical services director ANZ, Luke Caputo, head of human resources ANZ, Lynn Tan, audiology partner Specsavers North Ryde and North Rocks, Suren Naidoo, optometrist partner, Specsavers Dapto. “We’re honoured to be recognised alongside our global partners and colleagues as one of the world’s best workplaces,” Specsavers ANZ Managing Director Mr Paul Bott said.

“People have, and always will be, at the heart of everything we do at Specsavers. We continuously strive to create a workplace where each of our team members feel welcome, valued and proud of the difference they make to lives around the world.

“This global recognition is a reflection of the dedication our people bring to work each and every day”, he added.

Great Place to Work selected the World’s Best Workplaces by gathering and analysing more than 7.4 million confidential survey responses, representing the experiences of 20 million employees worldwide at Great Place To Work certified organisations.

It assessed organisations on their efforts to create great workplaces and positively impact people and communities across multiple countries.

Companies must have appeared on at least five Best Workplaces lists in Asia, Europe, Latin America, Africa, North America, or Australia during 2023 or early 2024, and have at least 5,000 employees worldwide, with 40% outside its headquartered country.
