The Passe & Williams Foundation has announced that its next annual award round for funding of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery projects will open soon and include a new clinical fellowship.

The fellowship will be for clinical and surgical applicants who have completed their formal training.

The next funding round will open on 7 July 2025 and close on 2 September 2025. It will provide funds for projects starting in early to mid 2026.

“We offer a wide range of awards to support outstanding projects and career development in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS), including our flagship award, the Senior Fellowship,” the foundation said on its website.

Awards available for application this round include the:

  • Clinical research grant
  • Conjoint grant
  • Research scholarship
  • Junior fellowship
  • Mid-career fellowship
  • Senior fellowship
  • Clinical fellowship

Workshop to help applicants

The foundation encourages prospective applicants to attend the annual awards workshop, a free, online webinar offering a walkthrough of the award round process, key insights from the foundation team and board, and a live Q&A session to address specific questions.

The workshop will be on 14 July 2025, from noon AEST, online.

“This is a valuable opportunity to engage directly with the foundation and ensure your application is as strong as possible,” the foundation said.

The Passe & Williams Foundation is a charitable foundation, improving people’s lives by advancing ear, nose and throat (ENT) research, surgery and care.

“We do this by empowering researchers and clinical practitioners to solve real-world problems by providing funds, resources and support to the best people and projects in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand,” the foundation website states.

Over the past 33 years, the Melbourne-based organisation has funded more than 400 research projects in Australia and New Zealand, with more than $85 million in support significantly impacting ENT research and clinical practice.

Register here for the workshop.
