Oticon Medical is contributing to NextSense audiology masterclasses in July 2026 which will focus on the Sentio bone conduction hearing system, providing education for audiologists, health and education professionals.

Presented by Oticon Medical, the two online webinars will explore the Sentio Active Transcutaneous System, a bone conduction hearing solution for people with conductive, mixed or single-sided hearing loss.

The first session – Sentio bone conduction hearing system – an introduction for caregivers, allied health workers and teacher – will be online from 12pm to 1pm AEST on 3 July 2026.

The webinar will provide an overview of how the Sentio system works and the benefits it can offer users. Participants will learn about the system’s active transcutaneous design which combines an implant placed under the skin with a sound processor held over the implant by magnets.

The session will examine how the Sentio 1 Mini sound processor and Sentio Ti implant support people with conductive, mixed and single-sided hearing loss. Presenters will also discuss design features intended to benefit children, individuals with reduced dexterity and people with active lifestyles.

Attendees will hear how the Sentio Ti implant – described by Oticon Medical as the smallest transcutaneous implant available – supports straightforward surgeries, and may help expand candidacy for more people to benefit from a bone conduction implant.

The second webinar – Exploring Sentio Active Transcutaneous System technical aspects, outcomes, and use cases in Australia – is scheduled for 12pm to 1pm AEST on 29 July 2026.

Targeted at audiologists and other hearing care professionals, this session will dive deeper into the system’s clinical and technical aspects. Topics will include pre-operative trial processes, audiological and surgical candidacy considerations, management of the Sentio 1 Mini sound processor, and practical resources to support clinicians.

Participants will review latest clinical and surgical evidence supporting the system, alongside current and future research projects designed to advance innovation in bone-anchored hearing technology.

The webinars will be presented by audiologists Stephanie Carrick, clinical sales specialist with Oticon Medical, and Zlindt See, audiologist and clinical sales specialist at Oticon Medical.

“We’ll explore all aspects of Sentio: straight-forward pre-operative trials; easy-to-use Sentio 1 Mini sound processor; expanded candidacy given the flexibility of the Sentio Ti implant; excellent audiological outcomes and feedback from users,” Carrick said.

See added: “We’ll also review the strong body of evidence for Sentio and give an insight into current and future research projects to ensure continued innovation in bone anchored hearing.”

Carrick, who is based in Perth, has a Master of Audiology from The University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Physiology from The University of Western Australia. She provides clinical, surgical and account support across Australia and has a particular interest in translating clinical research into improved patient outcomes.

See is an Audiology Australia-accredited audiologist who previously worked in a hearing rehabilitation clinic and became one of its leading hearing implant referrers. She now works closely with audiologists and ENT specialists throughout NSW and the ACT, supporting implantable hearing technologies and holistic hearing care.

Tickets, accessed here, for each webinar are $75, which includes access to the live presentation and recording. Members of the Australian Hearing Hub can attend free of charge.
