Neurotone AI has launched Tinnitus Pro app, which it says combines personalised sound therapy, cognitive behavioural tools, and patient engagement features to transform tinnitus care.
Neurotone AI is a businesss that provides evidence-based aural rehabilitation.
It said Tinnitus Pro was a digital therapy platform that personalises tinnitus treatment for patients and simplifies management for hearing care providers.
“Tinnitus Pro is the first app to combine personalised sound therapy and cognitive behavioural tools while keeping patients and providers connected through progress surveys, automated messaging, and Pro Portal insights,” Neurotone AI said in a media release.
Mr Rick Carlson, CEO and co-founder at Neurotone AI, said that for years, tinnitus care had been limited to generic masking and partial solutions.
“Tinnitus Pro changes that standard by tailoring therapy to maximise training benefits while giving clinicians new ways to monitor progress and stay connected,” he said.
He said most sound therapy options relied on unadjusted white or pink noise but research showed that therapy sounds that did not closely match a patient’s own tinnitus tone may be less effective.
“Tinnitus Pro bridges that gap through its personalised therapeutic tone – a feature that matches each patient’s tinnitus sound to get the biggest impact out of each training session,” he said.
He said it was the only app that combined habituation and adaptation therapies – approaches based on the research behind Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) and notched noise therapy — with customisable soundscapes to help patients find the relief that works best for them.
Developed with Dr Robert Sweetow, Dr Jennifer Henderson Sabes, and Dr Nancy Tye-Murray, Tinnitus Pro combines app-based CBT, education, and mindfulness tools to help patients integrate coping strategies and reduce the emotional impact of tinnitus.
Gamified streaks, leaderboards, and progress tracking keep patients engaged and consistent, Carlson said. And automated patient messages deliver personalised texts and voice notes that keep them supported and connected, all without extra effort for providers.
“All activity and progress are visible in the Pro Portal, Neurotone’s platform for patient monitoring and follow-up, so clinicians are connected and patients are supported every step of the way,” he said.
Lace AI Pro
Carlston said Tinnitus Pro could be offered as a standalone app or combined with Lace AI Pro, evidence-based auditory training program, enabling auditory training and tinnitus care in one interface.
“Tinnitus Pro represents a major step forward in how we treat tinnitus,” said Dr Nancy Tye-Murray, Neurotone scientific advisor. “By integrating personalisation, therapy flexibility, and ongoing support, Neurotone is empowering both patients and clinicians to achieve better outcomes.”
Tinnitus Pro is available to licensed hearing care professionals. The app has a lifetime retail license for patients.
Carlson will speak about AI in aural rehabilitation at the Hearing Business Alliance 2026 Seminar in Brisbane in February.
