Hearing Business Alliance (HBA) has released program and speaker details for its three-day seminar in Melbourne in 2025.
The theme of the event is Innovate to Elevate: Transforming Small Business Models.
The event will be from 28 February to 2 March 2025 at Pullman Melbourne on the Park, and there will be pre-conference workshops on 27 and 28 February.
“All small business owners, practice managers and key clinical team members will gain valuable business insights from attending the HBA 2025 Business Seminar,” HBA CEO Ms Jane MacDonald said.
“We welcome all members and non-members and encourage you to bring your practice managers and key clinic teams; those who have attended our seminars and workshops have welcomed the opportunity to learn, share experiences with others in their profession, and it’s always a great way to network.”
Speakers include:
- Dr Brent Edwards, Director National Acoustic Laboratories, who will discuss how technology innovation is changing hearing healthcare.
- Keynote speaker Dr Cliff Olsen, an American audiologist, founder of Applied Hearing Solutions and YouTube channel Doctor Cliff AuD, will give four presentations entitled ‘innovate or die’; explaining the value of your testing; consulting like a boss; and implementing innovation.
- A Hearing Services Program update will be delivered by staff from the Department of Health and Aged Care’s Hearing Services Branch- Assistant Secretary Mr Chris Carlile, Hearing Policy and Compliance Director Ms Gabriela Luksza, and Director Hearing Voucher Operations, Mr Rob Aked.
- Sydney audiometrist and director of Ear Studio, Mr Daniel Fechner will discuss elevating business efficiency with practical solutions.
- Mr Shane Duffy, General Manager, Services, Employment Hero, will present on modern approaches to managing employees and their performance.
- Ms Jane MacDonald, HBA CEO, will cover HBA’s key activities and strategic insights, and give a small business update.
- HBA Business Manager Mr Stephen Logan will give the opening address on unlocking knowledge and later facilitate a hearing industry panel on taking the first steps in leveraging innovation to elevate your business.
- Mr Anders Damkjaer Nielsen, Product Manager HIMSA, and Mr Glen Young, Director Otowave, will present on minimising IT distractions for growing your business.
- Starkey will give the major sponsor presentation and platinum sponsors GN Hearing, Widex, Bernafon, Phonak, Signia and Natus will also present.
- Mr Harry Nguyen from Heidi Health will discuss using AI to optimise clinical and business efficiency.
Pre-seminar workshops on Thursday 27 February 2025 include a Natus gold standard verification workshop and a CounselEar/Xero Workshop, with a single fee to attend one or both.
Vorotek will run a wax management workshop on Friday 28 February from 7.30am- 9am.
