Three companies that manufacture hearing aids have been named in Newsweek’s World’s Greenest Companies 2025 list with GN ranking the highest for its sustainability.
GN Group scored five stars out of a possible five stars, while Amplifon and Sonova Holding both rated 4.5 stars.
The ranking is based on publicly available data as of March 1, 2025, and selects the 750 companies worldwide that are most successful in reducing their carbon footprint and promoting sustainable practices.
The list is produced in collaboration with consulting firms Plant-A Insights and GIST Impact with the ranking based on data provided by GIST Impact.
Ms Jennifer Cunningham, editor in chief of Newsweek, said the world’s growing climate crisis, exacerbated by factors such as increased greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation, was one of humanity’s greatest threats, according to scientists.
“Despite the challenges ahead, businesses are stepping up to reduce their carbon footprint,” she said.
She said Newsweek and Plant-A Insights group were proud to recognise the world’s greenest companies to spotlight businesses worldwide who were determined to mitigate their climate impact
“We hope this ranking helps environmentally conscious consumers identify which companies go above and beyond in their efforts to minimise their ecological impact, seeking to foster a sustainable tomorrow,” Cunningham said.
GN, which provides ReSound, Jabra, Beltone, Interton and Danavox hearing aids, said on its website that sustainability was integrated into its fundamental business strategy.
Amplifon said this latest recognition of its environmental commitment followed the company’s inclusion in the Financial Times’s list of Europe’s Climate Leaders, compiled in April 2025.
Sonova’s brands include Phonak, Unitron, AudioNova and Advanced Bionics cochlear implants.
