A new platform providing live streaming of ENT surgeries will showcase an Oticon Medical Sentio System implant procedure.
European-based virtual EdTech (education technology) company MEDFLIX will launch its free ENT on AIR live stream on 30 April 2026.
Four ear procedures will be streamed from operating theatres in Birmingham, UK during the morning. Time differences mean the screening will be in the evening in Australia.
MEDFLIX said it aimed to advance medical education and launched its ENT website in 2025.
“It is designed to connect ENT specialists worldwide and foster insightful discussions within the ENT community,” MEDFLIX said.
The 30 April event, which is open to all healthcare professionals around the world, will showcase:
- Stapedectomy under local anaesthetic performed by Mr Charlie Huins, consultant ENT surgeon at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
- Superior semicircular canal plugging performed by Mr Richard Irving, consultant otologist, neurotologist and skull base surgeon, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust; Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital for Children, Birmingham.
- Endoscopic tympanoplasty performed by Mr Chris Coulson, consultant otologist and skull base surgeon, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
- A live Sentio System implant procedure performed by Mr Peter Monksfield, consultant ENT surgeon, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

The event will be on Thursday 30 April 2026, from:
- 10am – 1pm GMT
- 7pm – 10pm AEST (Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Hobart)
- 6:30pm – 9:30pm ACDT (Adelaide, Darwin)
- 5pm – 8pm AWST (Perth)
- 9pm – 12am (New Zealand)
