People who missed out on attending The Sound Exchange’24 can gain CPD when they register to access presentations through an online portal during the next two weeks.
Free for Sound Exchange delegates, Audiology Australia has now opened access to its virtual content package for members and non-members who can earn up to 6.5 points when they watch recordings featuring presentations from two speakers and the latest product information from four key sponsors of the event.
On offer are webinars hosted by audiologist and Oticon Medical senior clinical sales specialist, Ms Stephanie Carrick and balance disorder and vestibular testing expert, Dr Kamran Barin. Other event partner sessions cover topics such as product and technology advancements and funding options for cochlear implants.
Carrick will provide insight into counselling clients on bone conduction devices while Dr Barin, Assistant Professor Emeritus, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus will discuss gaze stabilisation and nystagmus in videonystagmography (VNG).
Dr Barin PhD, a doctor of electrical and biomedical engineering, established Ohio State University’s Balance Disorders Clinic and was its director until retirement in 2011.
He made significant contributions to the evaluation of vestibular function including the Head Impulse Test (HIT) bedside test that assesses the function of the semicircular canals and the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR). Dr Barin has also contributed to otolith testing including the assessment of subjective visual vertical and gaze stability without fixation.
Any portion of the package can be completed by the closing date as people do not need to commit to all 6.5 hours of content.
Registrants can access the portal 24 hours a day, seven days a week until it closes at 11:59pm AEST on Wednesday 26 June 2024.
