The nation’s peak accrediting body for audiologists, Audiology Australia (AudA), has unveiled a raft of new benefits as part of its transformed member experience.

From 1 July 2024, AudA’s more than 3,400 existing members and newcomers will have access to new human resources (HR) and employee relations (ER) support, as well as exclusive discounts and deals on a range of products and lifestyle, leisure, and financial services.

With 2024-2025 membership renewals now open, AudA CEO, Leanne Emerson said the new benefits and a recent upgrading of the member experience with new systems and self-driven member hub were part of the organisation’s ambitious plan for growth and impact under its 2023-28 strategic vision for ear and hearing health in Australia.

“Our new Member Hub offers greater flexibility, automation, and ability to tailor engagement and continuing professional development. We’ve prioritised simpler membership and accreditation management processes and even greater member resources and extras to deliver an unmatched member experience,” she said.

“We’ve added more great extras in 2024-2025 to help members reach their professional goals and stay focused on what matters most – quality contemporary hearing healthcare.”

Other benefits include:

  • Continued complimentary access to the International Journal of Audiology.
  • Free access to more than 140 on-demand recordings, short courses and online endorsed events from Audiology Australia’s online learning library.

People can view the full list of member benefits that are unlocked when renewing or joining.

Emerson said the new two-category structure, handbook and learning management system meant it was now easier for members to manage their CPD through the member hub.

“The website and member hub have been reimagined and developed with the user journey in mind to make it easier and quicker for members to find the information and services they need,” she added.

Benefits of the upgraded website and member hub include:

  • A simplified single sign-in to access everything members need to manage their membership, CPD and they can search the job portal, change and update their details, track and manage their professional development, access member news, resources and the International Journal of Audiology all through the hub.
  • Expanded fields and sections in the member profile to provide more information so AudA can tailor member experience and engagement ensuring members receive the correct information, support and opportunities no matter what career stage or specialist area.
  • Expanded membership to include a ‘non-member’ category to make it easier for hearing health stakeholders and clinic staff to access the system to benefit from professional development and advertise job vacancies on career connect.

AudA said it supported audiologists to deliver the highest standards of contemporary hearing health care through:

  • Accreditation
  • Education and professional development
  • Ethical and professional standards of practice
  • Networking and collaboration
  • Advocacy – a policy voice with influence, professionalism, leadership, innovation, and integrity.

Claim HSP services

People who renew or join before 30 June 2024 will be ready to claim Hearing Services Program services and AudA benefits from 1 July 2024.

If audiologists are concerned about their ability to renew or join, or need to discuss meeting their accreditation or internship requirements, they can contact the national office on 03 9940 3900 or email info@audiology.asn.au and staff will work with the audiologist to find a solution.

Members can also apply for a CPD point or fee reduction due to personal circumstances or hardship such as parental leave, redundancy, job loss, illness, or death in the family.

To personalise member experience and provide each member with the services and support they need, the organisation is asking members to update their profile, subscriptions, and listings for Australia’s number one audiologist public search tool Find an Audiologist when they renew.

Renew membership here or visit www.audiology.asn.au and log on to the member hub to renew your membership.
