Audiology Australia (AudA) is calling for research and clinical presentation abstracts as it gears up to bring Australia’s biggest hearing health event to Adelaide in April 2025.
With the theme, “Unite, innovate and evolve together,” the Audiology Australia 2025 Conference promises to delve deep into the latest advancements, research and practical applications in audiology contemporary practice.
Spanning from the cutting edge of innovation to the realities of clinical care, the event will foster collaboration across the sector and between audiology and allied health while promoting innovation in practice and advancement of client care and professional development.
Research and clinical presentation submissions are now open to speak at the event from 1-4 April 2025 at Adelaide Convention Centre.
In a bid to expand on the usual conference conversation, the peak accrediting and advocacy body is seeking submissions from researchers, practitioners, clinical managers and others with unique insights, experiences and contributions in the field.
“AudA is committed to amplifying voices not often heard at conferences,” it said.
“As well as research abstracts, we have a dedicated application process to support clinicians, practice managers and allied health professionals looking to share their valuable knowledge and experiences.”
It said research presentations helped keep the audiology community up to date with the latest developments by sharing research.
Clinical presentations covered the work of frontline audiologists and showed how everyday work led to valuable lessons and improvements in clinical practice. AudA encouraged practitioners who had encountered scenarios requiring them to think outside the box or manage complex and unusual situations to apply to present.
It also encouraged those who had implemented collaborative approaches which significantly impacted their practice to consider presenting.
The program will feature international keynote plenaries, symposiums, oral and poster presentations, interviews, panels, masterclasses and learning labs, showcasing a wide range of audiological science and practice.
Advantages of presenting include sharing work, research and ideas with a supportive and engaged audience; gaining recognition and enhancing professional profiles in the audiology community; networking with peers, experts and leaders in the field, fostering collaboration and innovation; and inspiring and motivating others in their practice and research.
Submissions can be on topics including, but not limited to:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ear health
- Innovations in practice and technology
- Interdisciplinary work
- Infants and paediatrics
- Rehabilitation and counselling
