Allied Health Professions Association (AHPA) and the Australian Digital Health Agency have joined forces to help allied health professionals improve cyber security for their practices.
AHPA, in association with the Australian Government’s Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA), is inviting practitioners to tune in to a free webinar on the topic from noon to 1pm AEDT on Wednesday 26 February.
The webinar will help practitioners learn more about cyber security, how they can protect their business and what is being done to protect digital health information.
Speakers will be ADHA cyber security experts Ms Tracey Weeks, manager cyber security awareness and education, Ms Chloe Chan, assistant lead cyber awareness and education officer, and Mr James McKay, director cyber security operations.
They said cyber attacks could lead to loss or theft of sensitive health information, reputational damage, disruption to service delivery and financial loss.
The webinar will cover key cyber security concepts including ransomware, password security, phishing scams, network and device security, and how to respond to any breaches.
There will also be a discussion of My Health Record security and privacy features.
Attendees will have the opportunity to be involved in an interactive Q&A with the experts.
Learning outcomes include being able to:
- Recognise the importance of cyber security and implications for your practice.
- Implement strategies to protect your practice and understand what to do in the event of a cyber incident.
- Identify key resources and support for improving cyber security at your practice.
